Education key to making informed decisions

Surat Mum’s n Bub's have had a fun and educational start to the year with a visit from Heather Hall, Manager - My Health Record Expansion Program for the Western Qld Primary Health Network.
The group of mothers who meet weekly, had the opportunity to find out more about ‘My Health Record’ – an online summary of key health information for parents and their families.
SAC Manager, Jessica Walsh explained, the ‘My Health Record’ enables people to control their health information securely in one place.
“This means important health information is available when and where it’s needed, including in an emergency,” she said.
Jessica further stated that keeping parents up to date with key information regarding Government initiatives was important as it impacts their ability to make informed choices.
“Through education, parents can be more aware of different products and services and have an increased ability to make informed decisions for themselves and their family,” Jessica said.
Throughout the year, the Surat Mum’s n Bub’s group will have further visits from healthcare professionals. If you would like any further information regarding the Surat Mum’s n Bub’s group or other SAC activities and programs, please contact us on 46265288 or admin@suratabcorp.com.au
